The Trevor-Wilmot “Family Access” web site is now up and running. This means that parents, using a confidential username and password, will be able to view week to week grade book information about your child(ren).
Many questions which required contact with your child’s teacher(s) can now be answered in the convenience of your own home and at a time which fits your needs.
How did my child perform on the math test? Does my student have missing assignments in language arts? Answers to questions such as these can be obtained through the “Family Access” web site.
In addition, your pupil’s attendance information is also available on-line through the “Family Access” web site. Also available is a record of your son or daughter’s food service purchases and your school meal balance amount.
The process is relatively easy. Simply go to the school web site www.trevorschool.net or www.wilmotgs.k12.wi.us or the District web site at www.trevor-wilmot.net. Locate the link for “Family Access and click on it. Enter your login and password and instructions will guide you to the information you are seeking. Each parent will receive their own login and password which you can change to something easier to remember.
As part of the District’s Strategic Plan, the Board of Education has made a major commitment to improving communication between home and school. We hope you find the “Family Access” web site helps to keep you informed regarding your child’s academic progress at school. Parent/Teacher Conferences
Good communication between the home and school is vital in forming an educational partnership for your child’s benefit. The parent-teacher conference provides a means for a two-way exchange of information between you and your child’s teacher. This year, conferences are scheduled for later this month, the evenings of November 19-20.
It is reassuring to recognize the fact that both of you want your child to succeed, progress at the pace best for him or her, to feel that the standards at home and at school complement each other, and to feel that learning takes place at school and at home. Remember, both you and your child’s teacher are aiming for the same goal—the best possible education for your child. An effective P/T conference:
Enables the home and school to meet the needs of your child.
Provides an opportunity for the teacher to share with you your child’s educational program.
Provides you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s strengths and weaknesses.
Helps the teacher to understand your family’s aspirations for your child, his or her routines, interests, out-of-school activities and the emotional climate in the home.
Informs you of school rules, discipline, and attendance issues.
Listed below are some questions you might want to ask the teacher during the conference:
Is my child doing as well as her or she should?
What instructional groups is he or she in and why?
What instructional books are being used?
May I see some work produced by my child?
Does my child get along well with other children?
Have you noticed any signs of initiative, originality, or responsibility in the classroom?
Does my child respect authority?
How can I help my child at home?
What tests are administered at my child’s grade level and when will I be notified of the results?
Together with families and community, our mission is to create a student-centered comprehensive learning environment fostering personal and academic excellence.
