teachersWe welcome the following new staff members to our TWC community. Angel Jurinek
Art Teacher at Wilmot Primary Center

Besides being a mom to Brock (5) and Tanner (3), Angel Jurinek is a dedicated runner, biker and roller-blader. She has run the Chicago Marathon three times and recently completed her first triathlon. Although she did previous work as an interior designer, she decided to become a teacher when she and her son visited a local elementary school’s open house. She says that, “the second I walked into the school, I knew that I was going to be a teacher.” She finds the atmosphere at Wilmot Primary Center to be very comfortable and feels that, “everybody has been very friendly and helpful.”

Emily Moffitt
Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Teacher at Wilmot Primary Center

Emily Moffitt student taught in Mrs. Wendricks’ third grade class last year as she completed her degree from The University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Mrs. Moffitt is mother to Landon (1) and a three-year-old black lab named Chloe. She loves to paint and draw and particularly loves learning new forms of artistic expression. She was pleasantly surprised by how “at home” she felt right away due to the welcome she received from staff, students, and their families.

Joe Schlicht
Music Teacher at Both Schools

Joe Schlicht graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and previously worked in the Omro and Fond du Lac school districts as a music teacher and substitute teacher. Mr. Schlicht spends much of his non-school time singing with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus (MSC) and the MSC Professional Core. He has traveled and hiked throughout the United States. While sitting on a mountain top in Colorado, he was encouraged to say what he loved most and to get a job in that field. It was then he acknowledged that he had always wanted to be a teacher. Mr. Schlicht enjoys working at both schools and feels that our teachers have a bond which makes for effective communication.

Kristin Swenson
First/Second Grade Multi-Age Teacher at Wilmot Primary Center

Kristin Swenson, originally from Black River Falls, Wisconsin, comes from a family of teachers. She student-taught in first and third grades in Onalaska, Wisconsin while completing her degree from Luther College. Ms. Swenson enjoys running, reading and traveling. She was not sure what to expect because she had never taught in a multi-age classroom. She has been pleasantly surprised, however, “by the dynamic learning environment that is present each day.”
