At their March 2nd meeting, the Board of Education agreed on a short list of contractors
for the new building addition on the Trevor site. The Board determined that the most qualified contractors for our school project were Camosy Construction, J.P. Cullen & Sons, Riley Construction and Scherrer Construction.Previously, the District had advertised a Request for Qualifications in the Kenosha News and in construction trade journals. Twelve companies responded with information regarding their firm, school building experience, and ability to complete the Trevor project on time and within budget. The Board plans to interview representatives from each company on March 23rd to gather more information.
In the meantime, Bray architects Matt Wolfort and Clint Selle were directed to prepare three bid alternates for the project. The first bid alternate calls for the construction of five second floor classrooms, either “shelled out” or in completed form. The second alternate provides for the demolition of the current fifth grade wing and the renovation of the front of Trevor School. The final bid alternate would renovate the boys’ and girls’ bathrooms in the art/band wing at Trevor. Contractors will be asked to provide separate bids on these projects and the overall bid cost will determine whether the District can afford to proceed with these projects or not.
