A New Mission Takes Shape
As part of the process to blend two separate school districts into one, the Board of Education unanimously approved the development of a strategic plan. Strategic planning encourages organizations to take a look beyond the pressures of daily operational life and to see the future as it could and should be. It helps the organization to focus its attention on the crucial issues and challenges. It, therefore, helps the organization's leaders decide what to do about those issues and challenges. Most importantly, it utilizes the input from a myriad of stakeholders rather than a select few. As a result of the strategic planning process, our new district will have a clearer idea of what it is, what it does, and what challenges it faces.The strategic plan will describe the district's mission, goals, objectives, and strategies for achieving the objectives. It will also include performance indicators that will provide feedback on our progress. Over the past several months, a group of community members, parents, teachers, staff members, administrators, and board members have worked together to begin the process of developing a strategic plan to provide guidance for the new District's future.
